Capture the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park through your camera lens. Artist and educator David Jesse McChesney will teach participants to develop their personal photography styles against the backdrop of the Mojave Desert. This two-day class will begin in the classroom, setting the stage for an intensive photo shoot in Joshua Tree National Park the following day. During the classroom session, McChesney will review camera basics such as exposure, shutter speeds and depth of field. He will explain how to combine traditional photography skills with digital techniques. The field session in Joshua Tree National Park will explore the landscape through the eyes of artists focusing on large scale composition using boulder towers, desert vistas, and Joshua tree communities as subjects. A tri-pod is strongly recommended for this class.
