Capture the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park through your camera lens. Artist and educator Spelman Evans Downer will teach participants to develop their personal photography styles against the backdrop of the Mojave Desert. This two-day class will begin in the classroom, setting the stage for an intensive photo shoot in Joshua Tree National Park the following day. Spelman will review camera basics and how to combine traditional photography skills with digital techniques to create dynamic images in the classroom session and then focus the field session on exploring the landscape through the eyes of artists using boulder towers, outwash plains, panoramas, close ups, and Joshua trees as subjects.
