A lecture describing geologic and paleontologic research in the park, followed by a full-day field trip will reveal the park’s buried riches of Pleistocene fossils. Participants will learn about the new discoveries that have provided scientists a revised hypothesis of the pre-history of the Southern California region. The class will also learn about the methodology of paleontology including discovery, recovery, curation and analysis of specimens. Kathleen, Eric, and Chris will demonstrate the proper technique for fossil recovery, including documentation and curation of specimens.
