Did you know that wildflowers can be abundant each fall? Summer annuals will bloom in September with enough rainfall. Desert Naturalist, Darrell Shade will saturate your senses with these unique fall blossoms that occur in Joshua Tree National Park in this one-day field class. Starting in the field, the class will walk through colorful summer annual flowers and learn how to identify them by scientific and common names. Opportunistic blooming and other survival strategies will also be discussed. Depending on the temperature, the class will go to the Oasis Visitor Center after lunch for an in-depth presentation on botanical characteristics of wildflowers or continue the class in the field. Don’t miss this opportunity to get to know fall blooming plants up close and personal.
